Waller Marine is a world leader in the design and construction of power barges. In 2010, Waller Marine, Inc. was awarded the contract to construct what would become the largest floating power plant in the world. The project consisted of building two 300' x 100' barges, each equipped with GE 7FA turbines, that have a combined power generating capacity in excess of 340 MegaWatts of electricity. This was the first time that GE 7FA turbines were ever installed on a mobile platform. The barges were built at the Signal International yard in Orange, TX and were launched in 180 days.
